SEPDAC is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
SEPDAC is organized to form a non-profit corporation for Research and Education; initially endeavoring to acquire data about such things as lifestyle, technology, ekistics, language, beliefs, and level of sophistication for ancient cultures through the application of high tech remote sensing, modeling, direct measurement, analytical investigation, and the scientific method; to serve as a conduit through which reliable, untainted information is disseminated in an unbiased manner to the world scientific community and others wishing to process or analyze SEPDAC findings in order to draw valid conclusions supported by such data; to have the right to engage in, educational and benevolent work; to promote fellowship and cooperation between those who are in or may become associated with this corporate association; and to secure protection for and recognition of the officers of said association and its employees.
SEPDAC is to have authority to maintain, publish, print, and circulate periodicals and materials.
SEPDAC is to have the right to own and operate vehicles for the transportation of those affiliated with the personnel of the corporation.
SEPDAC is to have the right to establish and operate benevolent programs wherever there is a perceived need.
SEPDAC will do any and everything necessary and proper for the accomplishment of the objectives of the corporation; to engage in any lawful business or activity related thereto; and to engage in any lawful act or activity for which corporations may be organized under the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code.
SEPDAC shall engage in various educational, and scientific purposes to include the organization of scientific and engineering competitions, especially those engaged in by students such as, but not limited to, the International Aerial Robotics Competition (IARC), US-European Micro Air Vehicle Demonstration/Competitions, US-Asian Micro Air Vehicle Demonstration/Competitions.
SEPDAC shall also engage in scientific research pertaining archeological pursuits involving lifestyle, technology, ekistics, language, beliefs, and level of sophistication for ancient cultures by applying high tech remote sensing, modeling, direct measurements, analytical investigations, and scientific methods gleaned from its involvement in scientific and engineering competitions as well as other sources. It is therefore within the charter of SEPDAC to engage in, organize, run, and foster such competitions to advance the state of the art of the tools which could have application to SEPDAC's scientific research goals.
In its investigatory role, SEPDAC will serve as an evaluator of any items donated as to their scientific accuracy, engineering utility, common use, and value as an aid to others in the use of said items. SEPDAC will likewise serve as an evaluator of proposals of all kinds to guide organizations in planned pursuits, especially those of a technical nature.
In general however, SEPDAC is a charitable, educational, and scientific organization, and will expand into other areas of benevolence, education, and scientific pursuit as deemed practical or interesting.
